Aikido
Literally "the way of harmony". A martial art founded in this century by Ueshiba Morihei based on older styles of JujitsuÂ
A Japanese term meaning, literally, 'way of divine' harmony'. Aikido, a defensive way of unarmed combat was created in Japan in the 1920s by Ueshiba Morihei. It's students are taught to react to an attack by throwing and subduing the aggressor by applying pressure to joints or vital points.
