SEISHIN
Spiritual energy. Generated through training in classical Japanese disciplines, seishin was expected to heighten courage and patriotic spirit, particularly for the soldier or sailor. Every fighter came to believe that seishin would enable him to perform on the battlefield in a state of mind that would conquer any emergency. The concept of seishin helped to fabricate the myth that the Japanese fighter was invincible in battle.
